e-Bike the Black Forest

This tour package provides you with a lot of flexibility. You are staying in a small Black Forest mountain town above Freiburg with easy access to many sights in the Southern Black Forest.

Private Guide, Navigation, Route Notes, Maps & Support

The first day we set you up with one of our e-bike guide who will take you on a half day guided tour. Great way to get familiar with the area! We plan on lunch at a local cabin so you get to taste some specialties as well.

There are several add-ons for this package. We can add-on more days. We can add-on a guided tour by car to see a different area of the Black Forest (for example the clock area) the following day. And we can set you up with a guide to take you on a guided walking tour of Freiburg – the nearby capital of the Black Forest. Everything is possible with this tours. Tell us what you have in mind and we tell you whether it can be organized.

e-bikes

Our e-bikes are typical touring bikes which allow you to tour on streets as well as on forest roads. We equip you with a lock and a helmet as well. Our e-bikes come in various sizes. When handing over the bikes we make sure everything is adjusted correctly to your height. The battery should last all day.

Is it for me?

Great for anyone who is active and can ride a bicycle. If you are looking for a bit of activity in the outdoors during your vacation – this is the tour for you.

Itinerary

Arrival Info

Arrive in Freiburg by train. From here you switch to a regional train which takes you to your first hotel up in the mountains within 45 minutes.

If you arrive early afternoon, there is still time to include some sightseeing to nearby sights (e.g. Lake Titisee, Feldberg Mountain). We are happy to provide recommendations on what to see and do on your arrival day.

Your hotel has a restaurant. But there are also other options in town.

We work with a family-owned hotel in a small mountain town – located very close to the train station.

Description of your day

Morning. In the morning our guide will meet you at your hotel. He will also bring your e-bike along. We will help you get the bike adjusted to your height. And explain the basic functions to you. Then you are off with our private guide to explore the Black Forest by e.-bike

Touring with a guide

We have scheduled a half day tour with a bike guide for today. Depending on your fitness level and the distance you are interested in the routes will change. We usually plan on a lunch stop at a local cabin.

On your departure day you will hop on a train to Freiburg (free).

We recommend exploring Freiburg prior to your departure (why not add-on another night?). No rush – if you want to explore town, then store the luggage at the train station and pick it up later. We can also add-on a guided walking tour of Freiburg for 90 minutes covering the highlights of the old town centre.

The hotel we include in this package is a family-owned hotel located in a mountain town above Freiburg. This is not a fancy hotel, but nicely remodeled and very (bicycle-) friendly.

Double Rooms. If you are booking a double room there is one double bed with 2 individual mattresses (not 2 twin beds). If you require separate beds we recommend booking 2 separate rooms. In rare cases twin beds are available, please inquire.
Single Rooms. If you are traveling by yourself we charge a single room supplement. You will either be provided with a single room. Or with a double room for single use – based on availability.
Upgrades. Upgrades are not possible on our bicycle packages
Bathrooms. All rooms have private en-suite bathrooms.
Air-Conditioning. most hotels in the Black Forest do not have A/C. Please let us know if this is a must-have for you and we will choose a hotel accordingly.
Elevators. Please note that our hotels most often do not have elevators – you will have to walk a flight of stairs to get to your room.

Mobile Phone Coverage. Please note that the Black Forest is a mountainous area. Often there is no mobile phone coverage when touring the Black Forest.
Wi-Fi in hotels. All of our hotels have wi-fi but sometimes it can be spotty in your room – depending on the location of your room.
If you require constant online access we do NOT recommend touring the Black Forest. Consider staying in a large town like Baden-Baden or Freiburg instead.
