Freiburg is a busy little city and for many the best city Germany has to offer. We place you in our favorite hotel in Freiburg from where navigating through the city is simple & easy. Time split between Freiburg & the Black Forest

We put a tour together which allows you to experience both – a city and some quiet time in the Black Forest. It can often get overwhelming planning a stay in the Black Forest. Too many things to see and to, too difficult to choose what to see and not. This is where we step in. We tell you exactly where to go, how to get there and how much time to spend there. You will feel like you really got to experience the Black Forest

Are there any options to choose from?

Yes there are! You can choose between a self-guided package or a guided package. The main different is the price 🙂

Option 1: Self-Guided 1-Day Getaway. If you choose to do this all on your own we will provide you with our self-guided audio tour of Freiburg. (you can also add-on a guided to take you on a walking tour of Freiburg). The following day we provide you with several options to do a self-guided tour of the Black Forest. Either take it easy (souvenirs, lake visit, short walk through the forest) or be active and go for a hike (5 miles hike to see a waterfall)

Option 2: Guided 1-Day Getaway. If budget is not an issue then we highly recommend to experience Freiburg & the Black Forest with a local guide. Upon arriving in Freiburg our guide will meet you at the hotel to take you on an orientation walk of Freiburg. The following day our guide will meet you at your hotel to take you on a 6 hour driving tour of the Black Forest. The itinerary is customized – so you get to see and do exactly what you want.

Is it for me?

Great package if you only have limited time available. A day is all it takes to get a taste of the Black Forest. We are sure you will want to come back after this quick getaway!

Arrival Info

Arrive in Freiburg by train. Exit the train station. Short walk to your hotel (15-20 minutes)

At your hotel you will find our welcome bag with all information you need for your stay

If you choose our self-guided package download our audio guide onto your phone. Then head out and explore Freiburg!
If you choose our guided package our Freiburg guide will meet you at your hotel to take you on an orientation walk of town.

We provide you with plenty of options on where to eat and drink in the evening.

Our hotel is located in the heart of Freiburg, a short distance from the train station. It can easily be reached on foot.

In the morning we recommend a quick walk to the farmers market in Freiburg – a good way to grab some supplies for your day out in the Black Forest

Double Rooms. If you are booking a double room there is one double bed with 2 individual mattresses (not 2 twin beds). If you require separate beds we recommend booking 2 separate rooms. In rare cases twin beds are available, please inquire.
Single Rooms. If you are traveling by yourself we charge a single room supplement. You will either be provided with a single room. Or with a double room for single use – based on availability.
Bathrooms. All rooms have private en-suite bathrooms.
Air-Conditioning. our hotel has A/C
Elevators. Please note that our hotels most often do not have elevators – you will have to walk a flight of stairs to get to your room.

Mobile Phone Coverage. Please note that the Black Forest is a mountainous area. Often there is no mobile phone coverage when touring the Black Forest.
