Depending on your preferences, there is the Northern, Middle and Southern Black Forest. Each has different characteristics. Mountains, alpine forests, the wine regions of Ortenau, Kaiserstuhl and Markgräflerland – located at the base of The Black Forest and many times being referred to as the ‘Tuscany of Germany’ due to their warm climate. With enough time on your hands I can take you to the neighboring Alsace region of France (wineries, castles) or close-by Switzerland (Rhinefalls).
