The Wine & Schnaps Trail is a good package if you are looking for medium walks with some elevation through beautiful scenery, while taking in good food and great wine. The walks allow that you have plenty of time to take it easy and immerse yourself in the local Black Forest culture of the town in the evening. This package is recommended for small groups of 4+ people. The more people, the more fun!

There are 13 wine regions in Germany with more than 23,000 vineyards. The wine area of The Black Forest is the 3rd largest and southern-most wine region in Germany (called Baden). The climate in this area is warm, as the vineyards are sheltered by the surrounding mountains and the Rhine River Valley. Due to this warm climate, Baden produces the only wine-zone B class wines in Germany. Wine-zone B is the same category as the famous French wine areas of Alsace, Champagne, and the Loire Valley.

Schnaps Trail -Experience like a local
Our package includes a very special hike – we call it a Schnaps Trail hike. You will immerse yourself into the local environment of farmhouse distilleries. Depending on your fitness level you can choose to walk either 7 or 12 km to reach several schnaps tasting locations. Our trail documents contains all the info you need to find our which farmhouses have a schnaps fountain in front of their house where you can stop by for a tasting. The trail takes you on a scenic tour around the vineyards with plenty of vista points and photostops. Here is a short video on how to find a schnaps fountain:
